As part of our mission and outreach to our neighbors and the Valley Village (North Hollywood) communitiy, our congregation welcomes and provides space and facilities for the meetings of several self-help groups, 12-step programs, a Thai Christian congregation, and a Seventh-Day Adventist fellowship that meet on our church campus. There is also a pre-school program as well as a senior center operating on the campus.
The statue of the lamb (Agnus Dei or Lamb of God) was part of the cornerstone of our old sanctuary which was destroyed in the '94 earthquake. When bulldozers were clearing debris from the wreckage, the statue was almost thrown away in the dumpster, but at the last moment was noticed and saved. Today it stands on the lawn in front of our chapel, reminding us of our past history, but also serving as a symbol of our survival, resurrection, and flourishing ministry under God's grace.
