The contest was a close one but prizes went out to Allen R. for the most unusual, Rev. Poole for the Hottest and Jill M for the favorite.

Ron Black, Square Dance Caller taught the group the do-si-do and right and left grand as well as many other more complicated square dance moves. Check out Patch.com’s great video below! And if you missed it this year be sure to be on the look out for the contest next year.

This past Sunday, Faith Presbyterian Church announced and formalized its relationship with three new partners in ministry! Faith was delighted to meet, and receive, the Rev. Curtis Webster, who has just begun his ministry at San Francisco Theological Seminary as the co-director of enrollment and Pastor-in-Residence. Curtis, his wife Kay, and two of their seven children were present for worship, remarking, “of all the excellent presbyterian churches in the area, many much closer, we have chosen to make Faith our church home.”
We also recognized a new dimension of ministerial partnership with member and youth-leader David Derus. A short while ago, David approached the leadership of the Church to consider sponsoring him through the ordination process as he prepares for Ordained Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the church – a request which after careful prayer and consideration the Session unanimously approved!
Although absent, it was also announced that long-time member and retired minister extraordinaire Rev. Frank McCraven would also be received as a Parish Associate.
Head of Staff, Rev. Richard W. Poole, invited ordained members of the congregation to lay hands on Curtis and David, leading the church in a “prayer for ministry” – giving thanks to God for this amazing blessing in the life of Faith Presbyterian Church!

Greetings in Christ!

It has been too long since I have utilized this amazing tool! My many thanks to Ransin for his faithful work over the years to the establishment and maintenance of this website, and to Sue Natale for her gifts, skills and dedication to its updating and current format!

I would really like to use this website to do more connecting, but, only if that is something others desire as well?

“Things” in, at, and around Church seem to be going very well. What are you enjoying? What else would you like for us to be doing? Are you plugged in? What are your gifts and talents? What drives you? What would you like to see change in the world around us?

How’s that for a conversation starter?

Let me/us know what you think!

in Christ,

Pastor Rich

Most churches ended up having a Memorial Day theme this past Sunday, which also happened to be the day we’ve set aside as Trinity Sunday.

Interestingly enough, I’m discerning another “convergence” of concepts as I mentioned last week from the pulpit – we’ll be experiencing the Sacrament of Communion, a time in which the words “do this in remembrance” of me may be particularly meaningful.

Who do we remember on Memorial day? How do we celebrate this “national” holiday in a world that is increasingly global?

Well, we’ll also be setting out into new Scriptural territory starting this Sunday, moving from the book of Acts into a time to “go” and “grow” deeper with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Luke; which we’ll be looking at all the way through the end of November!

Perhaps in this “direct” time with Jesus we may be able to pursue the above question together and ponder the way in which Jesus is our:

Wonderful Counselor

Mighty God

Everlasting Father

and

Prince of Peace

in a world with so many nations and soldiers? In response to Christ’s own risen command in Matthew 28:19, “go therefore to ALL the nations and preach the good news.”

My prayer: Jesus be in our thoughts, prayers and reflections that we may seek to know you in conversation and community; so order our thoughts, words and deeds that we may be more like you, Amen
