Pastor Rich

Pastor Rich is a native Californian, received his B.S. in Geology and Religious Studies from the College of Wooster, and earned his M.Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Prior to coming to Faith Pres, Rev. Poole served as a chaplain in Colorado, as pastor in Texas, and as director of a campus ministry at the University of Oklahoma.


Christian Education

The spiritual education of our children is very important to us. Sunday school is made available to all ages, and children are very involved in the worship services.

Highlights of the Christian education program include: The Christmas Pageant, Tuesday Nite Live, The Community Easter Egg Hunt, and the Rally Day Worship Service

To end a tradition

April 19, 2015 (TBD) will be the final hike picnic to Skarins” primitive”, 100 year old cabin in Big Santa Anita Canyon, Chantry Flat, in the Angeles Forest.. God has blessed the many parties over many years including Girl Scout celebrations, youth choir overnights, women’s overnights, and so many more.

After worship, carpooling is the best way to make the trip to the trailhead. From the church, the route is on the #210 freeway, toward Pasadena, about 27 miles. At Santa Anita Avenue make the left turn toward the hills Parking is at a premium at Chantry Flat, which is highly used each weekend. The $10.00 fee at the Pack Station parking lot may be subsidized. but must be reserved.

Each person must bring a picnic lunch, drinking water, insect repellant, sturdy shoes and a light wrap. Please, a clothing change for the children. The stream is small,but running. A BBQ fire will be available for small items to cook.

Easter Events

All are welcome to join us for our Holy Week and Easter celebrations! Here’s what’s coming up:

Sunday March 29 at 10:30am – Palm Sunday service: “Hosannas” fill the air as Jesus rides triumphantly into Jerusalem—fully knowing the trials that are to come.

Thursday April 2 at 7:00pm – Maundy Thursday service: We commemorate the events of the Last Supper, Trial, and Crucifixion through prayer, scripture, communion, and music.

Friday April 3 at 7:30pm – Passion Concert: This Good Friday, we will explore the Passion and Easter story through musical theatre and popular music, inviting the art community to lend their talents. Part of our monthly concert series, benefiting our New Organ Fund.

Saturday April 4 at 9:00am – Easter Extravaganza. Our annual Community Easter Egg hunt is Saturday morning starting at 9am, including games, snacks, and of course, an Easter-egg hunt!!

Itinerary as follows:
8:00 Volunteers arrive and set up.
9:00- Welcome
9:30- Egg Hunt
10-10:30: Egg shaped cookie decorating
10:30-11:30: Picnic style games (face painting, potato sack races, three legged races, bean bag toss, and more)
11:30-12: The Easter Story as told by eggs

Sunday April 5 – Easter Sunday: There are many opportunities to join us in celebration on Easter! Our “sunrise” service is outside in our courtyard at 8:00am (communion will be served), followed by our annual Easter Breakfast at 9:00. Regular service will be held at 10:30, including music from the Faith Chapel Choir and the Faith Ringers, our bell choir for all ages.

Concert Series

All concerts are at 7:30pm in the Chapel, unless otherwise indicated. All proceeds benefit the church’s New Organ Fund. Use the “Donate” button to make your reservation today. Dates, times, and performers subject to change.

Friday March 13 – Gabriel Velasco, Trumpet; Stephen Spencer, Woodwinds
Trumpeter Gabriel Velasco and reed player Stephen Spencer take us on a journey through their respective repertoires, accompanied by Director of Music Ministries Kevin F. Story. Suggested donation $10.

Friday April 3 – Passion Concert
Join us for a Good Friday journey through the Passion story using musical theatre and popular music. Featuring a cast of polished musical theatre performers and members of the Faith Chapel Choir, it will be a concert you won’t want to miss. Suggested donation $20.

Friday May 8 – The Ryan Whyman Group
This celebrated ensemble combines jazz and classical idioms to create a sound uniquely their own. Suggested donation $15.
